In Kazan modernized CHP-1


By the end of this summer, work on the modernization of Kazan CHPP-1, the oldest power plant in Tatarstan, was completed. Its construction was also provided for by the GOELRO plan, and it was put into operation back in 1933.

In 2016, in accordance with the power supply agreements, the construction and installation of combined cycle gas plants (CCGT) began. Each CCGT includes a gas turbine plant with a capacity of 77 MW, a steam turbine with an installed capacity of 41 MW, and a waste heat boiler. The project also included:

  • installation of indoor switchgear 110 kV;
  • installation of indoor switchgear 110 kV;
  • equipping power facilities with microprocessor devices for relay protection and automation, devices for transmitting emergency signals and commands.

In Kazan, CHPP-1NPP EKRA, together with Energozashchita LLC, equipped the station with relay protection and automation terminals of the EKRA 217 series, relay protection and automation cabinets of the ShE 1110 series, and emergency control cabinets of the ShEE 22X series with ALAR and CDA functions.
